Below is a recap of only a few (Missouri House has 400+ bills and Federal House has 1,200+ bills) hot legislative bills currently in the Missouri House and Federal House of Representatives “sausage grinding machine”.
PLEASE FOLLOW UP WITH PHONE CALLS AND E-MAILS ON THOSE BILLS THAT CONCERN YOU AND OUR NATION. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH BEFORE MAKING DECISIONS
State House of Representatives Bills
HB 609 Chris Moldedorp - Establishes the Show-Me Health Insurance Exchange Act. See summary here.
This bill is currently in the Senate and will, if passed, install Step 1 of Obamacare in Missouri by establishing the Health Insurance Advisory Committee with Missouri’s portion of the $100 billion that was (illegally) build in to the Senate initiated Obamacare bill. If this bill is passed and signed into law our state legislators will have passed the bill that goes directly against what Proposition C instantiated by 70%+ of Missouri voters in 2008. Please do your own research but definitely contact those who are in control.
HR 900 Timothy Jones
This bill imposes a minimum fine and possible discharge for those legislators not being present and participating in their sworn duties. This bill should prevent the debacle that was played out in Wisconsin when Democrats chose to leave the state rather than do their sworn duty.
HJR 34 Jamilah Nasheed
Proposes a constitutional amendment prohibiting anyone elected to the General Assembly after November 1, 2008, from serving more than 12 years in any one house nor more than 24 years total in both houses
HJR 26 Paul Curtman (last action 3/15/2011 but not on House Calendar)
Proposes a constitutional amendment prohibiting state government from recognizing, enforcing, or acting in furtherance of certain actions of the federal government. If you believe in State Sovereignty then please contact your State Legislators.
HJR 144 Stanley Cox
Proposes a constitutional amendment changing the laws regarding elections by authorizing provisions relating to advance voting, voter identification, and absentee voting.
